In October 2020, the name of the new creative director of Diesel became known. The position, which had been empty for three years, was taken by Glenn Martens— one of the Parisian designers of the "new wave". The graduate of the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the winner of the ANDAM Award has already managed to breathe new life into one brand — Y/Project - and demonstrate by its example exceptional skill in working with denim and a complex cut.
Glenn Martens presented his full-fledged debut spring-summer 2022 collection as part of the men's Fashion Week in Milan, which included both conventionally female and male models, as well as gender-neutral ones. Of course, most of the collection is made of denim, and some of the models are previews of the designer's new project with an emphasis on environmental friendliness. All this is done together with recognizable motifs from Martens himself - so we get a completely new stage in the life of the Italian brand.
