Melissa

Melissa is a Brazilian brand founded in 1979. It specializes in the production of practical, stylish, and comfortable footwear made from plastic and infused with fruity scents. Melissa shoes are crafted as seamless, monolithic pieces—without the use of insoles—which helps prevent blisters. In 1983, the brand began creating collections in collaboration with world-renowned designers, architects, and artists. The first such partnership was with Jean-Paul Gaultier; subsequent collaborators have included the Campana brothers (Fernando and Humberto Campana), Vivienne Westwood, Zaha Hadid, Jason Wu, Karl Lagerfeld, and others. Today, the company’s research and development efforts are led by creative director Edson Matsuo, a talented specialist in the field of art.
